Dr. Jimmy Nelson
1:00PM-2:00PM, Feb 28, 2014, B110 Blum Center
In this talk, Dr. James Nelson, recently graduated from the Energy and Resources Group and now with the Union of Concerned Scientists, will talk about the challenges of integrating renewable energy such as solar into a reliable electricity system. Beyond manufacturing innovation in making solar PV cheaper, issues in storage, economics, policy, and regulatory framework are eqaully important factors for a reliable low-carbon electricity grid.
Dr. Nelson talks about the impact of SunShot solar PV deployment on the western part of the U.S. electricity grid.
